Note: Julia B. Thayer was a music teacher in Winchester (New Hampshire) before marrying Edward Carrington Thayer (1828-1898) of Uxbridge, (Mass.) and moving to Keene (New Hampshire). Mr. Carrington was a successful and influential industrialist and businessman, and manufacturer. Both Mr. and Mrs. Thayer were philanthropists and donated frequently to various causes. Mrs. Thayer donated to causes including various hospitals, libraries including the Thayer Library in Keene (New Hampshire), churches, and donating the drinking fountain to the town of Warwick (Massachusetts).

Note: Henry F. Jenks is descended in the seventh generation from Joseph Jenks, Jr. who was the first settler to Pawtucket. He is sixth generation descended from Governor Joseph Jenks. His father was William  T. Jenks (1795), and his mother Patience Hall from Harwich, Massachusetts. He received a mechanical education. He was employed at Hope Iron Works in Providence (Rhode Island). He later was employed at William T. Nicholson (founder of Nicholson File Co), until 1866. He spent some time in the army and was also a member of the Pawtucket Light Guard, becoming Major and then Lieutenant-colonel.  Messrs. Jenks & Co. was started in 1865.
